Society of TranssexualWoman of the Phillipines
The Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines is a women's group, and the first and only transgender rights support and advocacy group in the Philippines. It was founded in December 2002 by four Transpinays (Filipina women of transsexual experience), in Seattle's Best coffee shop in Magamall B in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila. The organization was formed to address the issues, needs, and concerns of transsexual and transgender Filipinos and to raise public awareness on issues of gender identity and expression, as well as promote a compassionate understanding of transsexualism.
